Tuesday, October 28, 2025, we had another dancer join the beginner class. Noel Chávez worked on polishing the slip-step and emphasized rhythm in skip-change. She also introduced figures of 8 on the sides.

Tuesday, October 21, 2025, we did dances from both the Milwaukee Halloween Dance and Fall Dance programs. We also tried a dance by Yoshi to give feedback. We introduced Schiehallion reels and ladies’ chain up and down the set. Other figures reviewed were 3-couple allemande, figures of 8, both 2- and 3-couple promenade, corner-partner, and set to and turn corners into closing reels. We also taught some people how to birl.

Tuesday, October 21, 2025, we had 3 more dancers join the beginner class. Noel Chávez reinforced skip-change steps and introduced rights and lefts and using skip-change with varying lengths, forward and back in advance and retire.

2. Ceilidh Madness 32R3 (modified to be all skip-change)

3. Geordie’s Coo 32J3 (made-up dance for rights & lefts)

Tuesday, October 14, 2025, we did dances from both the Milwaukee Halloween Dance and Fall Dance programs. We also tried a dance by Yoshi to give feedback. We introduced the 3-couple bourrel and the slip knot. We also reviewed double triangles, diagonal rights and lefts, the QT poussette, the 3-couple allemande, the double figure of 8, grand chain, and half hands across.

Tuesday, October 14, 2025, we started a new introductory dancer class. Noel Chávez and Mady Newfield talked about sets, couples, foot positions, skip-change and slip-step as well as progression. Figures covered were circles, hands across, RH and LH turns, casting off, lead down and back, and allemande.

Tuesday, October 7, 2025, we did a couple of dances from the Ann Arbor Ball, a dance from the proposed Fall Dance, a couple of Unit 2 dances, and a dance from Book 54. We did a talk-through-only dance and learned the snake pass and rondel and reviewed grand chain and ladies’ chain.
